What is an Explainer Animation Process?
An explainer animation process is the step by step workflow used to turn a script into a finished video. It typically includes concept development, storyboarding, and animation so feedback happens early and surprises are avoided.
1 - Initial Design (2 Revision Rounds)
Before I create your full explainer video storyboard, I make sure we’re heading in the right visual design direction. The last thing either of us wants is a 60-screen storyboard only for you to hate the main character.
I’ll design 3–5 sample animation frames showing the color palette, character design, and background style so you can see exactly where I’m taking the project before we go all in.
2 - Full Storyboard (2 Revision Rounds)
Next, I design the entire animation storyboard — a complete visual map of your custom explainer video before anything moves.
I’ll walk you through each screen on a call, answer your questions in real time, and make sure you’re 100% confident in how your animated marketing video will look before I start animating.
3 - Voice Over Selection (2 Revision Rounds)
Now we pick the professional voice actor who will guide your viewers through the video.
I’ll send you two voice-over samples reading your script. Choose the one you like best, or let me know if you’d like two more options. This way your brand voice matches the tone of your animation perfectly.
4 - Animation (2 Revision Rounds)
Finally, I take your approved storyboard and bring it to life. By now, you know exactly what will be said, how it will sound, and what it will look like.
I combine motion graphics, sound effects, and background music to create your finished high-quality animated explainer video. Once you love it, I’ll deliver the final file and share video marketing tips so you can get the most out of it.
Frustrated that people don't "get" how your company helps them?
Since 2011, I’ve created over 500 explainer animations for busy marketing teams.
If you're tired of bloated animation agencies, missed deadlines, or hand-holding freelancers — I’ve got you.
